Dress Distribution #110 - Early Christmas Goodies for Pakistan

I have always wanted to send these items to a location but I could not remember which box it was that contained them until two days ago I found it by accident. This time sending the parcel is on the top of my list.
Three of these items (hairclips (19x), singlets (12x) and handmade bags (4x)) were donated to sell to raise money for postage. I have not been attending markets for almost 2-1/2 years now so I never had the chance to sell them (and they did not sell from my website) so I have decided to send it to Pakistan for the kids to wear and enjoy. The other two items of beanies (4x) and scarves (4x)  will be of good use during Pakistan's winter season. They are all new. You see, sometimes I have this habit of buying something when on sale (real sale!) hoping that I will be able to give it to someone. And since the box still had some space available, I added in the 4 dresses sent by the Year 9 students of the Rockhampton Grammar School. These items will be sent to Lubna Ghani for her to give to those who are in need of them. I always feel good when I sort and pack items to send. Hopefully I will have more to pack with the season of Christmas almost just around the corner.

Same for boys' clothes if you are intending to donate for the boys, sizes must be between 7 to 10 and will appreciate if you could include t-shirts to match the pairs of shorts. There will be two cut-off dates for dresses to reach my address. -

(1) First cut-off date - 31-Oct-2017
(2) Second cut-off Date - 30-Nov-2017

For guidelines on how to make the dresses, please click hereIt takes time to sort, pack and organize these distributions, so please make sure parcels are in by the due date you choose to send. To those who are contemplating on making donations and/or ready to send parcels, please send me an email for the postal address.
If you want to make a difference and do not have the time or does not know how to sew but still want to help provide clothing for the less fortunate, why not consider sponsoring a dress. Proceeds from the sponsorship until the end of the year (31-Dec-2017) will be donated to the Christina Noble Children's Foundation's clean water tanks for clean water project in Vietnam. Wow! that is hitting two birds with one stone. So why not sponsor a dress. Click below for the link to sponsorship -
Or you can make a donation directly to the donation page of Christina Noble Children's Foundation and please make sure you identify your donation as 'Dress Sponsorship' in the comments box to be allocated dresses.
A tax receipt for all sponsorships will be issued by the foundation.

All sponsored dresses will be earmarked for the following locations - 25 dresses for Kenya, 25 dresses for an orphanage in Bangkok and 25 dresses for the Philippines. All these dresses will be handcarried.

They loved sewing the dresses and were very happy to donate for the disadvantaged kids anywhere in the world. These dresses will be included in the planned Christmas distribution for 2017. Thank you to the Year 9 students for their hard work and generosity and to Mrs Julie Dunlop for guiding them . Much appreciated.

Guidelines for making dresses for the 2017 Christmas collection

Soon I will be opening a new dress collection for 2017 Christmas distribution. For those who are contemplating on making dresses to donate, please be reminded on Dress A Girl Australia's guidelines on how to make dresses especially on the materials to use. It is my wish that the dresses to be given away can be outgrown by the kids who will receive them, that they can be worn for a longer period of time or even possibly handed down to a younger sister and/or brother  so fabric materials to be used in making the dresses must be of a material that can withstand rugged environments like 100% cotton. Ribbons should be avoided when making the pillowcase style of dresses as they do not last.
For this Christmas collection, sizes between 7 to 10 will be preferred. Same size preference for pairs of shorts if you want to donate for the boys.

For any questions or more information regarding dresses to donate, please send an email to dressagirlaustralia@gmail.com.

Funds raised for CNCF's clean water tanks program as of today

Since I started supporting the Christina Noble Children's Foundation Australia's Clean water tanks for 100 families in Vietnam program through my Dress Sponsorship Program, as of today I have raised the amount of $313.08. The 31 dresses sponsored will be allocated for distribution in Sri Lanka next month.

The amount of $313.08 has been donated directly to CNCF and donors have been issued tax receipts for their donation. We still need more dress sponsorships as the project I believe has not reached even half of the amount that is needed to provide clean water tanks for 100 families. The sponsorship program will be running until the end of the year to provide assistance to the CNCF project and I hope there will be more who would like to sponsor (especially with the Christmas season fast approaching) to help make the clean water tank project successful.
