Reminders on how to make dress donations and guidelines

Lately, I have been getting a few enquiries about dress donations. Due to space problems at home, I can no longer accept continous dress donations unless I have a specific location to send them to. Cut-off dates when a location is identified will be posted on this site.

Dress a Girl Australia is not financed and/or sponsored by anyone. Due to the regularly increasing cost of postage and cost of distributing dresses I would now require a donation of $2.00 per dress if you want to donate a dress. Below are a couple of links which can give anyone an idea as to how to donate dresses and guidelines on how to make and/or sew a dress to donate.

It is time to post the 2023 stats for Dress A Girl Australia. Two locations were recipients of the dresses I made. Total number of dresses distributed was 34 only, a few toys and childrens' books and magazines. Distributions were made in Portugal and a special community in Queensland.

With the above 2023 distributions added to the grand total, below is a summary of Dress A Girl Australia's grand total distributions -

  • Total number of dresses  - 10,190
  • Total number of t-shirts/boys' sets  - 1,175

Now that everything seems to be back to normal, I hope to continue distributions in the future. Thank you.

Dress Distribution #125 - Sharing Dresses for Queensland

This distribution was made last November 2023 but am only writing the article today. The 20 dresses below were given to a community in Queensland by another acquaintance. Also included in the parcel were childrens books, magazines and toys for a centre that was being established in the area for this special community. I was not able to take pictures of the childrens' books and magazines but the toys I donated for the centre are on the image below.

It was quite difficult to make a difference during the past 3 years due to the global pandemic and more expensive cost of sending parcels and distributing the dresses. Was glad I was still able to help make a difference last year in my own little way. If you are interested to make a difference this year, please check out the following info below by clicking on the links. You will also find the links on the left side navigation pane on this page.

For more information please feel free to send me an email or click on the ''Çontact Me'' tab at the top of this page.  Thank you.

Dress Distribution #124 - To an Orphanage in Portugal

It has been a while since I was able to make a difference. I am only writing this article now but this distribution was made in May 2023 when I had a trip to Spain and Portugal. I handed it over to an acquaintance of mine who worked in an agency dealing with children in refugee camps. Unfortunately there were no pictures as I had such a limited time. I made and took 14 dresses with me and these are the dresses -
