Guidelines - Dress Donations

From Dress A Girl Australia
==================================================================

16-Oct-2014

Important Information regarding dress donations to future donors :
Due to financial difficulties I am no longer able to sustain this campaign by accepting bulk donations of dresses from prospective donors. My handmade business is quite slow in generating income and can no longer cope with the cost of running this campaign. My attempts at fundraising is not doing well either. The cost of shipping, handling and distributions are skyrocketing. I am just a normal and/or average person who goes to work everyday to earn a living but probably has a big heart to help the disadvantaged people, lots of compassion and kindness to share but do not have the hundreds or the thousands or the millions other people have or other groups doing the same thing have to support this campaign consistently.
In order to be able to continue making a difference to the lives of the disadvantaged children around the world and after careful consideration, Dress A Girl Australia will continue but in limited numbers only. I will no longer be accepting donated dresses continuously but only by project where locations are definite. This way, I am able to budget and allocate the cost of future postage.
Effective 1st of January 2015, the following limits are imposed on dresses being donated.
Individual - 6 dresses only
Group - 20 dresses only
Dresses should meet the guidelines on how dresses are made and kind of materials to use. Any flimsy dresses will not be included in any distributions. For guidelines on how to make dresses, please click here.
If you want to donate more than what is currently allowed, you may do so but I would require a donation of $2.00 per dress to help in the cost of shipping and handling. No one is forced to make a donation as it has to come from the heart so if you cannot help in the postage, please make sure that you only send me the number of dresses that is required as specified on the project requirements.
All available projects will be posted in my blog or in my facebook page including details on deadlines and where to post.

Thank you all for your kindness and generosity and understanding of the current situation. It is much appreciated.

  1. Can you give us the addresses of places to send them to, that should help defray your costs!? Love this idea...I have 2 pillowcase dresses made and intend to make more...if I have someone who will want them! Thank you so much!

  2. Sorry, I cannot due to security reasons they dont want their addresses to be given to everyone and be receiving parcels individually. Customs duties are being charged on parcels being sent to some locatins and they do not want to deal with this individually. Thank you.
