Items needed for Sri Lanka

If anyone would like to donate any of the following items, it will be very much appreciated and if you can send them to me as soon as possible. These items are to be sent to Sri Lanka but unfortunately, the packing for these items starts mid-September.  I only got confirmation of these information this afternoon. So if you would like to contribute, please make sure I have the items by the end of August (latest by Aug 30) 

1) T-shirt dresses and/or peasant dresses or any dresses with sleeves
2) T-shirts
3) School supplies (i.e. pencils, 128 pages exercise books etc)
4) school totes or similar to library bags
5) girls' undies

Pencils, Totes and undies from Jayne H

Collecting school supplies for my Education Without Borders program is still going on. There are still thousands and thousands of disadvantaged kids who are in great need of them and early this month I received a parcel of totes and pencils from Jayne Hogan. Included in the parcel were 3 packs of undies that will help replenish my 'undies box' which is almost empty.

Dress Sponsorship Program for CNCF's Clean Water Tanks for Clean Water in Vietnam program

Starting Tuesday, August 15, 2017 and for the remaining months of the year 2017, I have decided that full proceeds of my Dress Sponsorship Program will be donated to the Clean Water Tanks for Clean Water for 100 families in Vietnam program of the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation. The start date of August 15 coincides with the 10-year death anniversary of my father, Daniel M Sun Sr. and my way of honoring his memory. So far I have raised the amount of $225.00 which has been remitted to CNCF. 

Aside from the Dress Sponsorship program, I will be selling handmade teddy bears and dolls to help raise money and also succulents from my mini succulent garden. All these items for sale will be posted in a special fundraising page. I might even include a few packs from my fat quarters collection as I don't seem to have the time anymore to make quilts so I might as well sell them and help make a difference to the lives of families in Vietnam.

All sponsored dresses will be included in a dress distribution I am planning before the end of the year.

10 Sponsored Dresses for CNCF's Water Tanks for Clean Water in Vietnam

The next few days will be spent sewing these bunch of 10 fabrics for two high-school classmates I met last month in a reunion. They have sponsored these dresses for the Christina Noble Childrens Foundation project of providing clean water tank program for clean water for families in Vietnam. The foundation wants to provide clean water to at least 100 families in Vietnam in 2017.

Full proceeds from the dress sponsorships have been remitted to the foundation last month. Dresses will be stored for distribution planned before the end of the year.

Help make a difference to the lives of 100 families in Vietnam by providing them with clean water tanks for clean water. Dysentery is now one of the leading causes of child mortality under the age of five in Vietnam.  Each year millions of children and their families in Vietnam remain at serious risk from water borne disease, poisoning and skin problems. Help change their lives and give these children a happy and safe childhood. Full proceeds from dress sponsorships will be donated to the water tank project. Update on Dress A Girl Australia's data on Picasa Web album

About a year ago, the Picasa Web album was discontinued by google in order to focus on a single photo service in Google Photos. Due to this move, although it was made known to everyone who was using the Picasa Web album that all photos and videos would still be accessible including tags, captions and comments at the Album Archive of the new Google Photos, I seem to have lost a lot of links. Not all my Picasa Web album data has been saved in the new system.  I received a notification email that my blog was encountering error links (about 50 links) and that I need to correct them. 

It will be impossible for me to restore those links as I am not sure where to find those photos if they are not in the Album archive of the new Google photos so I have decided to remove all links to Dress A Girl Australia's data on dress distributions, dress donations received from the year 2011 to 2015 in my blog to eliminate the errors. I will need time to verify what photos have been saved on dress donations received and at this stage it may not be possible to start from scratch but new links will be posted in my blog for any data that I could possibly recover.

For feedback on dress distributions made from 2011 up to the present, this page here could possibly provide quick access to links on dress distributions to anyone who might be interested. Thank you.
