Sponsored Dresses for the week ending 28-Aug-2015 (Week 4)
For this week I was able to raise another $60.00 from my Dress Sponsorship program through the generosity of the following donors - All these dresses have been allocated to Distribution #91 for the kids of the Soibada community in East Timor.
1) Three dresses from Jen Fegredo -
2) A dress from Monique Naranjilla -
3) A couple of dresses from Joan Lui -
Thank you to Jen, Monique and Joan for your kind hearts. It is much appreciated.
In total, since I started in mid-August, for the month of August I have raised $252.00 from my Dress Sponsorship Program and have remitted to the Pittwater Friends of Soibada Timor Leste to help in their fundraising campaign to complete the construction of the Training Centre and Guesthouse facilities in Soibada.. For some, you must have received your tax receipts by now which I have sent via email attachments. Am still waiting for a few more and will forward it to the respective donors once received. Thank you so much.
Anyone out there who wants to make a difference? Check out my Dress Sponsorship Program. For $10.00 you get to provide a kid in the community of Soibada a new clothing and at the same time help complete the construction of the Training Centre and Guesthouse Facilities. That is hitting two birds with one stone. With your support, we are providing hope and a better future for the community. Please help spread the word around. Thank you.

Thank you to Frances and the Millhouse Collections for the donations. Much appreciated.

Feedback Distribution #83-03/2015 - Kijji Mission, Molo Kenya.
Surprise on an early Sunday morning ! Pictures of girls wearing dresses handcarried by Jennifer Hughes-Bystrom to Molo Kenya last February.
The remainder of the dresses were given to the girls in the surrounding, very poor community but pictures could not be taken of those girls wearing their dresses as they were immediately put away for special events. Here is the email I received from Jennifer -

Thank you so much to Jennifer for sharing these pictures. And thank you to the donors for making this parcel possible.
Soon I will be collecting a few more dresses for the community as part of the Christmas Distribution project for Jennifer to take back in Febuary 2016. I need to figure out how to save up for long-sleeve t-shirts which the girls can wear underneath during the cold season.

Dress Distribution #91/1A - 10/2015 - Parcel 1 for Project Soibada Timor Leste
Last Thursday, I posted my first parcel for the children of the Soibada community in East Timor. Tamara previously requested a few dresses to show to the members of their organization (Pittwater Friends of Soibada non-profit organization) and I thought sending her a parcel with only a handful of dresses might cost the same as sending what I have so far collected or just add a couple of dollars more. At least the members who would be looking at the items have varied options to see so I sent what I had so far. So here are the dresses that I sent last Thursday, 19th of August -
made possible by the following sponsor(s) -
1) Deborah Sempf (sewn by Dress A Girl Australia)
and following donor(s) -
2) Elizabeth Shoebridge of Vintage Fabric Addict (sewn by Dress A Girl Australia)
3) Karin Maltby (sewn by Dress A Girl Australia)
4) Frances Cornish
5) T-shirts by Dress A Girl Australia
To see larger and individual images of the items, please click here. Clothes sent are indicated in the caption as sent 19Aug-2015. These clothes will be taken over to East Timor in October.
Thank you to the donors and sponsors for making this first parcel possible. Much appreciated.

Update on Dress Sponsorship Form
I received my first batch of dress sponsorships today and I noticed that I have not updated the form that was filled up. It still mentions the construction of a well for clean water in Kalagi Uganda which is now complete and has been handed over to the community two months ago. I have now updated the form for the proceeds from the dress sponsorships now focused in supporting the construction of a Training Centre and Guesthouse in the community of Soibada Timor Leste. My apologies to those I had confused with the form. Thank you.

Dress Distribution #91/1A - 10/2015 for Project Soibada Timor Leste
Dress Distribution #91/1A for distribution in October is now open for dress donations. These dresses will be taken to Soibada Timor Leste c-o Tamara Harding, chairperson of the Pittwater Friends of Soibada. I will not be putting a maximum number of dresses to donate. I will leave it to each donor to think and make a decision as to what is the fair number of dresses to donate. This will be the first of many distributions I hope. Sizes should be between 6 to 12 years old and must meet the guidelines on how to make dresses and if possible dresses should have sleeves. The girls in the village need these dresses badly so make it special and long-lasting. All dresses have to be in my postbox by Wednesday, 30th of September to allow me more time to sort, organize and deliver the goodies to Tamara. Any questions on this distribution, please make a comment here or send an email to dressagirlaustralia@gmail.com. Thank you,

More to Match Fundraising Drive
December month is fast approaching and still eager and hoping to make a Christmas distribution, I have added more items to sell to help raise money for postage. Please check them out as all proceeds goes to a very worthwhile cause.
1. Oil Lamps by Crisa. There was a time when I thought glass painting would be great and what better goodies to use than these oil lamps by Crisa. Great for candlelight dinners and for those crafters out there who are into glass painting.
2. I have bags and bags of fabric scraps I thought I should start making something out of it, make the scraps more productive and help raise funds so I came up with this sexy dress. Remembered my senior prom when it was cool and sexy to wear a dress like this. Now I have made a replica of it through a handmade card using recycled Kraft blank cards. Inside panel is blank for personalized message and comes with a matching recycled Kraft envelope. A great handmade card to give to someone for any occasion...and knowing that for each card that sells...it makes a difference to a life of a disadvantaged kid (although the dress the kid receives and wear is not as sexy as this. :-) )
3. If you prefer to read books and magazines - click on the link below - and select a variety of great craft books and magazines still on sale. I have also added baby and kids fabric panels from my personal collection as it looks like I do not have the time to make something out of them so I might as well sell them and make a difference.
4. And the best way to make a difference is to sponsor a dress if you are not into sewing or do not have the time to sew. Sponsor a dress for a girl or a t-shirt/pair of shorts set for a dude through my Dress Sponsorship program. Each for a price of perhaps 3 cups of coffee. Click on the link below to make a choice -

A big sacrifice on my part when all these should be going to my pocket instead I chose to sell them and help me raise money to pay for the cost of distributing dresses, share whatever small fortune I've got and make a difference to the lives of the disadvantaged children. Please help spread the word.
