Update on Project Soibada Timor Leste - 12/2015

Project Soibada Timor Leste is a 2015 recipient of my Dress Sponsorship Program. The amount donated maybe very small compared to what others can afford but I always make it a point to provide updates (whenever I can as follow-ups and documentations seem to be my expertise I guess :-) :-)) so dress sponsors would know where the proceeds of their sponsorships have gone and/or what has been accomplished (aside from the fact that a dress is provided to a disadvantaged child) . Here is an update on Project Soibada Timor Leste.

Thank you to the Pittwater Friends of Soibada, a non-profit organization based in Avalon NSW and most especially to Tamara Sloper-Harding for providing these updates in their facebook page which I can then easily download pictures and share the updates with you.

I still have 4 more dresses left from my 2015 sewing which is waiting for sponsors and a few Christmas items for sale which I handcrafted where 50% of the proceeds from the sale of any of these items will be donated to the on-going construction projects at Soibada Timor Leste. Feedback on Project Soibada Construction Project supported by my Dress Sponsorship Program

A few images of the currently going-on construction project (Guesthouse and Training Centre Facilities) of the Pittwater Friends of Soibada which is a non-profit organization based in Avalon NSW and being supported in a very small way by my Dress Sponsorship Program. For $10.00 you get to help complete this construction project and make a difference to the people of the Soibada community in Timor Leste and at the same time provide a new dress to a disadvantaged child. 

As of today, I have raised the amount of $610.00 (that is 61 more dresses that I have sewn for disadvantaged kids) and remitted to the Pittwater Friends of Soibada. For this week I received one dress sponsorship from Lyn Granger. Not only did I receive donated dresses this week but also had sponsored dresses from two generous donors. The dresses will be allocated to the disadvantaged kiddies in the Philippines this Christmas and proceeds from the sponsorships have been donated to the Pittwater Friends of Soibada based in Avalon NSW to help in their construction projects in Soibada Timor Leste. Sponsored Dresses for the week ending 11-Sep-2015 (Week 6) for Project Soibada Timor Leste

A total of 8 dresses were sponsored this week. Three from myself and five from a donor who did not want to be identified. The dresses with sleeves were allocated to Project Soibada and the five pillowcase dresses were allocated to Project CDO Cabaraban which is scheduled for distribution at the end of this month.

As of today, I have collected and donated $452.00 from the Dress Sponsorship Program. Due to a tight schedule in the last week of Sept/early October, dresses I have collected (both sponsored and donated by individuals and groups) as of last Monday 3-Sep-2015 have been sent to Tamara Harding yesterday 10-Sep-2015 to free up some time in my schedule. Thank you to everyone who sponsored and donated. Thank you for making a difference to the lives of the people in Soibada, Timor Leste.

Lucky me for this week I was able to raise another $100.00 for the Project Soibada Timor Leste fundraising drive to help raise money to fund the completion of the construction of the Training Centre and Guesthouse facilities for the people of the Soibada Community in Timor Leste. These proceeds were paid to the Pittwater Friends of Soibada last week and I also added in $50.00 as my personal contribution being my birthmonth.
