It is time once again to see the world and at the same time make a difference to a few lucky disadvantaged children. I will be leaving for Siem Reap, Cambodia on Monday, 17th of September and will be bringing with me 25 dresses to give to the children of the Orphanage of the Sisters of the Missionaries of Charity (Mother Teresa sisters). I contacted and asked for assistance from the Reservations Manager of the hotel where we will be staying in Siem Reap to help me get in touch with the orphanage and let the sisters know that I will be going to their orphanage to bring these dresses on Saturday and of which he willingly and earnestly did. What an amazing customer service he gave. This is the parcel that I will be handcarrying to Siem Reap -
and these are the donated dresses included in the parcel from Monika Osvald, Colleen Mundt, Lyn Granger and Chrysoulla Paradisis. A few dresses I held onto knowing that I will be travelling to Siem Reap this year -
and these dresses were made by me - a few of them from donated fabrics -
Thank you to the generosity of those who donated dresses and fabrics. It is much appreciated. One will not know when I am going to travel and handcarry dresses with me so why not sponsor a dress now so I can bring it with me the next time I travel or the next time I send a parcel for distribution. To sponsor a dress, you can click here or click on the link below - Thank you.
I will be travelling to the Philippines in mid-October and will be bringing with me a few dresses to distribute to some disadvantaged children. If you would like to make a difference but do not know how or have no time to make dresses, why not sponsor a dress and I will include it in my distribution. You can sponsor a dress for a girl -
or sponsor a t-shirt and a pair of shorts for a boy -
or sponsor a dress for a girl and a t-shirt and pair of shorts for a boy -
or a set of 2 t-shirts and 2 pairs of shorts for 2 disadvantaged boys -
or a set of 3 dresses for 3 disadvantaged girls -
All of the above for the cost of perhaps one or 2 cups of coffee for 3 days. Proceeds from the sponsorships will help pay for the cost of distributing dresses to other locations. To sponsor, click on any of the images above or click on the link below -
If you feel like asking a question before sponsoring a dress, feel free and click here to send me an email. Thank you.
I did a cleanup of my backyard and I still have a few more yucca cuttings to sell as mentioned in my previous posting. Cut your own yucca or as many yuccas as you want for $6.00 per cut. The popular choice of gardeners and landscape designers! There are about 10-15 yuccas that you can cut.
This plant is mature and established. They can take sometime to grow into as big as what you are getting!
The plant you see in the photos is the actual plant. They make a bold statement in any garden and look good as a features in gardens, courtyards, landscapes. They also look beautiful in pots. It brings an architectural look to any garden beds, especially with modern designs.
These plants are easy to establish and maintain. While they prefer full sun and sandy soil, they can grow practically anywhere, including shady spots, rockery, coastal gardens, and pots. These beautiful plants can cost $40++ each for a size like these in nurseries and garden stores!
If you want an instant garden, this is for you. This is a hardy and mature plant, it will not die. It is ready for planting! Once it is planted, it will grow roots again. I have propagated my plants this way and they all survived! There is no postage for delivery of these plants as you are going to cut them and so is a pickup only at Casula (near Liverpool). To make a purchase, click on any of the images above or click on the link below as I have also posted them for sale on ebay -
Proceeds from the sale of these yuccas will be used to help pay for the cost of distributing dresses to disadvantaged children in the world, a self-funded charity work I started in 2011. Your purchase of any of these yucca plants will help make a difference to a life of a disadvantaged child. One yucca at a time....one dress at a time....one disadvantaged child at a time. Thank you.
I am going to Cambodia next weekend and already have a few dresses in my bag to take with me. I can bring a few more so if there is anyone who wants to sponsor a dress (with sleeves) please do so by clicking on the link below -
Dress A Girl Australia is open for dress donations between the size of 8 t0 10 years old for girls. I am not in a good financial position to distribute large quantities of dresses so there will be a limit of dresses to be donated by individuals and/or groups. Only 8 dresses will be accepted per individual and 15 dresses only for a group. These dresses will be distributed in the Philippines in October so please make sure you send your donations after Sept 23, 2018 but on or before Oct 5. to make sure someone is around to accept parcels. Deliveries for regular parcels now takes a week or more so please note the dates.
For those who are keen to donate handmade dresses, please send me an email to dressagirlaustralia@gmail.com for postal address. As usual, please be guided with the guidelines on how to make dresses to donate. Click on the link below for more details. Thank you.
