New handmade cards for fundraising

Sometimes I kind of agree with what my friends say that sometimes I am weird and strange when it comes to creating things although in real life I am actually a funny person and always brings smiles or generate good-hearted laughs from them. Whatever people think of me does not matter. This is a free world...even when it comes to creating. The possibilities are endless limited only by my imagination and I want to show it to the world . I know when I am doing it right and when it is wrong. 

I create, make my mind think of all the possibilities to make to sell and to help raise money and support my charity work. Some people start to doubt your charity work intentions when you start selling something but...this is what makes the world exciting. The challenges you encounter on your journey...to make a difference.

So here I am again...wearing my 'Soft Treasures' hat. My handmade business which I started 12 years ago to make a difference. Always looking for something new to create. Weird, strange, funny or unique handmade cards you possibly would not find anywhere else. Here are 2 of my latest creations which I am selling to raise funds for postage if needed or donate to my fundraising for a Dress A Girl Australia well for the people of Kalagi Uganda. Printed at home from my very old reliable printer.

1. Earth Cards. Am a great believer of saving and enjoying the earth so I made these cards as a way of showing how to do it.  'Love our Earth' handmade cards with charms that can be used and worn as necklace pendants. Everyday is earth day. Connect with nature, Breathe the Air, Go Ride a Bike, Repurpose, Replenish, Recycle, Craft and Imagine the possibilities, Give peace a chance. These are just a few of the selections I have thought about so you can enjoy the earth. The inside panel is a blank panel for your personal message. These cards sell for $3.25 each. 2. Maze Puzzle cards. Can you imagine what a headache it was trying to come up with a maze and a puzzle and a solution? LOL! but had a great time. Will make great children's party favours. With crayons, you can colour and make your own personal work of art. Instructions can be found in the inside panel of the card to solve the maze and/or puzzle. These cards sell for $2.75 each. These cards make wonderful keepsakes. Are small treasures to keep. And don't forget that for every sale from any of these cards, you are making this world a better place for disadvantaged people. If you do not like them, you do not have to buy them but you can still help by spreading the word around about these cards. Am sure there is someone out there who would like to have one but just don't know where to find it. So please help spread the word around.....it is for a very worthwhile cause. Nothing goes to my pocket...they all go to my charity tin can.

Handmade Quilts to sell or not to sell

Thought I'd share with you a few of my handmade quilts (all of them are more than 15 year olds) which I have been debating the past six months whether to sell or not to raise money for the Dress A Girl Australia well for the people of Kalagi Uganda. 

Looked at them again last night and for someone like me who takes a while to make quilts I still do not have the guts to put them up for sale especially my t-shirt quilt.  Brainstorming to find other ways to raise funds and hopefully the best idea will come up soon.

Next Big event of the year - Mother's Day

Yes, quickly coming up is another big event of the year. Mother's Day on the 11th of May. If you have not decided yet on which card to give your mum or grandma who mothered our mum to include in your special box, please feel free to look at these cards. They are now available for sale. Card sells for $1.75 (normally $2.25) plus postage of $1.00 and comes with a matching white envelope. 

Of course I cannot compete with dollar shops that sells their cards for a dollar each. :-)  I just do what I can do. There must be thousands and thousands of those cards printed by an industrial machine in less than an hour which cannot compete with my old and reliable inkjet printer but still any sale I make is always appreciated. Every card that sells gives a new dress to a disadvantaged kid around the world as proceeds from the sale helps pay for the cost of sending dresses to different locations around the world. And with the increasing costs of paper and printer inks, these cards are more than good value for money so if there is anything you like please make a purchase.

Market Day and Products for Sale

It was a very long day as today was market day for the quarter.  A very good and happy day but tiring. Woke up at 4am after going to bed at midnight and arrived back home at 5pm. Fell asleep and just woke up. Now cant go to sleep so I might as well take pictures of dresses and acknowledge donations until I feel sleepy again. 

Sharing with you some products I had at Dreamers Markets today. Creating these items are what I consider my 'Days of Happiness' especially when the end result is making happy the disadvantaged children around the world. I enjoyed making each one of them.

(1) Bucket 1 of 2 of the dammit dolls. Only 2 are left but will be making more and be made available soon. $15.00 each.
(2) Easter Bunny pins. Only 5 are left and when they are gone, they really are gone. $10.00 each.
(3) Easter Lavender Bunnies. Only 7 are left but can make more if needed. $5.00 each
(4) Easter Lavender Packs. A few are left but will be making more if needed. $5.00 each and comes with a card/envelope for easy gift giving.
(5) Happy Easter Buttons. Easily done if needed and available all year round in my creativity with buttons shop. They come in size 38mm (1-1/2") and 57mm (2-1/4"). Size 38mm is on sale at $1.00 each and size 57mm also on sale at $2.00 each.
(6) 'A is for Apple' Magnetic Blocks in a tin for kiddies to enjoy learning the alphabets, numbers 0 to 9, a few shapes and animals. They are about 5cms x 5cms  in size and full-sized magnet at the back. Selling them at $19.95 each.
(7) Last but not the least is my favourite and an original - 'Mama's Fabric Bust'. Comes with an easel stand for support. Selling at $20.00. Size about 20cms x 15cms (widest and tallest point)
