Last parcel for PNG posted today

Now that I know that the PNG parcel has safely arrived, it is time to send the last parcel for PNG for the year 2014. In certain locations I never send more than one parcel at a time. I need to know that it has been received first before I send another one as tracking is quite a hassle and takes a lot of time.
Sent the last parcel for PNG today containing clothes for boys. 

Now I can finally focus funds and time for the Dress A Girl Australia well.

Here are the last three invoices for the last three parcels I sent last week (six parcels for the Philippines) and today for India (Garden of Life).

Am glad I get special consignment discounts on air cargo as it makes it less expensive to send. It is time to sit down and do an accounting for Dress A Girl Australia.

Dress Distribution #79 - Christmas Distribution Parcel 1E - for Magalalag Cagayan Philippines

This is the last and final parcel for Christmas distribution and for the year 2014 and most likely the last distribution involving huge quantities of dresses. Parcel 1E of 191 dresses and 15 pairs of shorts and 9 t-shirts for the children of the remote province of Magalalag Enrile Cagayan Philippines c-o Norie Bordador. Due to time constraints, the last few parcels sent have no pictures of the actual parcels sent so I cannot post pictures of the parcels but the postage receipts should be good enough to prove that they were sent.

This is Parcel #2 of Christmas distribution for toddlers for 18 girls and 18 boys of the slum area of the Morales Compound in Pasig Phils c-o Rose Chuidian. Dress Distribution #80 - Christmas Bags 2014 Parcel#3 (Slums Phils c-o Rose Chuidian)

This is the third parcel of Dress Distribution #80 of Christmas Bags 2014 for another 37 girls in the slum areas of Metro Manila Philippines between the ages of 1 to 12 c-o Rose Chuidian. Dress Distribution #82 - Christmas 2014 Sponsored Dresses

This was actually a last-minute decision to set a charity drive for dress sponsorships for Christmas distribution to raise funds for my Dress A Girl Australia well campaign. I raised about $300.00 between the period July to October selling handmade items and instead of donating the money to my Dress A Girl Australia well I used it to pay for the cost of sending 2 parcels of dresses to Kenya last October. Each parcel I think cost me about $154 and $158 each (will have to dig receipts to get the exact amount although they are all posted in my postage album)  even the guy at the postoffice counter asked me where I get the money to pay for it because it was really expensive to send the two parcels. I wanted to collect the money back but because I keep on sending parcels I could not do it. Acting in desperation and 'giving tuesday' was then coming up I decided to run the Dress Sponsorship Charity Drive. It was a hard decision to make since it would involve myself sewing uncertain number of dresses in such a very limited time. Uncertain number since it would depend on who will be applying for sponsorships.This would mean late nights with my sewing machine but it had to be done as I wanted the $300 back.

I only targetted between 25 to 30 sponsorships which I thought was good enough to pay back what I used in my distributions but thanks a lot to a few people who opened up their hearts I was able to collect $670 for 67 sponsorships in 5 days.  I was able to double up the amount I wanted to raise for the Dress A Girl Australia well campaign. As of today I have now raised a total of $2,804.25 to provide clean water and give hope to the people of Kalagi Uganda. I've been a little bit lucky with my ebay selling lately of candlemaking supplies that I do not use anymore so am slowly getting there... hopefully will top the $3000 mark before Christmas and soon will make history.

Christmas bags for 40 toddlers, dresses for 37 girls and 22 shorts/t-shirts sets left and started its christmas journey this morning to Sariaya Quezon Philippines. That is another 99 kiddies between the ages of 1 to 10 going to be happy on Christmas day.

Dress Distribution #81 - Dresses for the children of Sariaya Quezon Philippines c-o Edna Albufera

These two parcels are for the children of the province of Sariaya Quezon Philippines about 2 hours away from Metro Manila (about 130kms) c-o Edna Albufera. One box contains the 40 Christmas bags for toddlers that I made about a month ago (reference article dated 9-Nov-2014) and the other box for older children between the ages of 5 to 10 with 37 dresses, 22 pairs of t-shirts and shorts and school supplies.

Soft Toys for the Christmas Bags

Except for a few dresses, most of the christmas bags are packed but noticed during the packing that some bags were missing small toys (as most bags/donations came with toys or had been provided with one from previous donations). Since I had earned another flybuy points which when converted was equivalent to $10.00 and with a few dollars more from my pocket, I bought the following items to add to the Christmas bags -

The toys were added to the Christmas bags for the Morales Compound kids and the shirts were added to the kids of Sariaya Quezon. Both locations are in the Philippines. Hopefully, these toys will make the kids more happy this Christmas.

Another two boxes on its way

Am getting bankrupt in my postage funds but seeing documents like this makes me think that even if I am running out of cash I am more lucky than where these dresses are going. Another two parcels starting its journey today for 145 kids to enjoy their christmas.

Dress Distribution #79 - Christmas Distribution Parcel 1D - Philippines - c/o Norie Bordador

This is parcel #2 of 2 for distribution #79 in the remote province of Bo Divisoria Enrile Cagayan, Philippines  (c-o Norie Bordador) as mentioned in my earlier article of parcel #1 Christmas distribution(Link to Parcel #1 article). This parcel holds 75 dresses for 75 girls to own new dresses this Christmas. Some dresses comes with undies and some were provided with one whenever a size was available.

Parcel Updates : Parcels Sent

Two parcels have started their journeys. One to New Delhi India and another to Mt Hagen Papua New Guinea. The India parcel (for the Sunshine Project in New Delhi) was sent yesterday -

Dress Distribution #79 - Christmas Distribution Parcel 1C - Philippines - c/o Norie Bordador

This is by far the largest distribution in quantity for boys' pair of shorts and matching t-shirts. These clothing items will be sent to Norie Bordador and distributed in the remote province of Bo Divisoria, Enrile Cagayan by her and a group of missionaries and volunteers. Enrile is about six or seven hours away from Metro Manila.

These christmas bags of a dress, undie, pair of socks and soft toy for 40 toddlers  aged between 1 and 2 or possibly even 3 yrs old are going to be sent to a Barangay(community) in Sariaya Quezon in the Philippines about 2 hours away from Manila (about 130kms away) c-o Edna Albufera who will make the distribution on Christmas day to the lucky toddlers. Dress Distribution #75 - Children of Lanao Philippines Parcel #2 (Christmas Distribution - c/o Sha Pagli)

This distribution is parcel #2 of 2 for the children of Lanao Philippines for Christmas distribution. These 2 small parcels include 31 dresses and 16 pairs of Boys t-shirts/shorts set and 47 girls and boys undies bringing the total number of dresses, t-shirts/shorts set to be distributed on this location to  89 dresses and 16 for the boys. 

These 16 pairs of t-shirts/shorts set and a few of the dresses were originally meant for Mukono Uganda to be sent last August but for a month I did not receive any response at all with the person who was supposed to be the recipient. I kept on sending him emails and the last few ones came back as undelivered.  I was afraid that it might not get to its destination unless I hear from him that he was there to receive it so I decided not to send and re-allocated it to this distribution instead. These items are not mine but donated to be distributed. I felt responsible for it and I want to make sure that they do get distributed and my time, money and effort is not wasted. (Whoever thinks distribution is the easiest task, you better think again.)

Dress Distribution #76 - Home of Love/Missionaries of Charity Antipolo Phils(c-o Sr Rose Emmanuel)

Distribution #76 is for a group of orphans and about 6 pregnant women seeking refuge at the Home of Love/Missionaries of Charity in Antipolo Philippines. This is the first special Christmas parcel of 2 which will be hand delivered by Rose Chuidian(to whom this parcel will be sent) to Sister Rose Emmanuel who is in-charge of this orphanage. About 2 months ago I asked Rose to find me this specific type of location. I wanted to be able to make sure that everyone is given a chance to receive something. It may only be to a select few but at least I found these group of kids and make their Christmas special this year.  It is a parcel of 24 dresses across different sizes between 0 to 14 years old including 6 dresses for 6 pregnant women, 12 pairs of boys and t-shirt matching sets and a small jumpsuit for a 3-month old and undies for each girl and boy. The parcel also includes for 3 infants in preparation for the birth of 3 babies before Christmas. Also included in this parcel are two teddy bears for a 9-yr old bedridden girl and a 5-yr-old blind boy which I hope will bring them comfort and joy to hug when they are alone and feeling isolated.

Dress Distribution #75 - Children of Lanao Philippines Parcel #1 (Christmas Distribution - c/o Sha Pagli)

This is Dress distribution #75 Parcel 1 of 2 for the children of Lanao Philippines for Christmas distribution. Lanao is about 24 hours by car and/or truck(1,523 kms) from the city of Manila via Pan Philippine highway and not sure if you can fly straight to this location. I think you have to fly to CDO and drive about 3 hours. This parcel will be sent to Dr Sha Paglinawan who will be visiting this area in early December. Parcel # 2 will be posted as soon as I have sealed the box. By the way, I am doing the dress distribution articles parcel by parcel to make it easier for me and believe me saves time.

Dresses for Chin Villages Burma.

Basket full of girls and boys clothing on its way to the Chin Villages in Burma to be handcarried by a lady nurse who is part of the Hope Project - Burma.
