Feedback on Distribution by the RVM sisters of CDO Philippines

As I have written earlier that two of the parcels I sent last December to CDO Philippines which had 63 dresses, 20 pairs of shorts, books and school supplies were donated to Lourdes University who has about three adopted communities in the region. I was looking at an attachment sent to me by my friend Ana who made the actual delivery of the parcels to the RVM sisters when I noticed a dress worn by one of the kids. It was so small because it was in a collage format but I thought the dress was familiar. So I sent her another message asking if she could send a bigger image and indeed she had pictures but is so busy she can not find the time to send and has to send it in batches as she cannot send in bulk. She is a teacher so her hands are full but she sent me two last night and this is one of them.
The distribution was done in Balulang Elementary School, a school adopted by the nuns of Lourdes College to help kids in the community get an education and the few dresses you see in this picture came from the 63 dresses that I donated to the school last Dec and where am still having a headache trying to reconstruct the donors. Look at how behave these kids are, sitting down waiting for further instructions. :-)

When I receive more pictures I will post them here. By the way, the child in the middle is wearing a dress donated by Gaylene Herrmann, the dress I recognized in the very small picture pasted in the attachment which was in collage format.

Feedback on Unaccompanied Baggage Trial

The parcels have arrived in Johannesburg last week (21st of Jan). Here is a snapshot of Joan Adams email
I think R235.00 is equivalent to AUD$25.00 which is much lower than what I expected and what I was told here in Sydney. She must have been given a discount too. So happy!!!

Good Thursday morning everyone! Just wanted everyone to know that the feedback emails that I receive from very thankful recipients of parcels that i send to different locations around the world which I post here in my blog every now and then or whenever I receive one to share with everyone are 'copy and paste' of the original emails I receive. I have the original emails in my inbox in case anyone wants to see them just send me a request. I remove the email addresses on the copy I post in the blog for privacy reasons. Thank You feedback from the parcel sent to PNG

The parcel sent to PNG has arrived and the children loved the dresses. Here is an email from Dave Scheier of Orphanlist.org who is currently in Mt Hagen for a visit.
And here are the photos I received. You may have seen the little men of BFO in a previous article wearing their new pants but this time you will see some of the little women of BFO, recipients of some of the dresses that were donated to Dress A Girl Australia for them. Look at their happy faces. Thank you to everyone for making this happen.
The little women of BFO, recipients of some of the dresses sent last July.

"Here are some of the little men of BFO. They are wearing pants that were donated by you all and a good friend in Sydney named Gigi Sun. Thanks for your prayers and support." by Dave

Thank you everyone for making this happen. Much appreciated.

Thank You feedback from the parcel sent to Vietnam

I received a message from Sister Julienne of the Sisters of Saint Paul of Chartres of Kontum Vietnam that the parcel of dresses has been received and released by customs after paying about a dollar per dress for duty. Cant figure out why duty has to be paid for a well-deserved donation of 34 dresses only but not for hundreds. No good. I have responded to Sister Julienne's message letting her know that I will make a $40.00 donation to her orphanage to repay the amount she paid for the dresses.

Also, Sister Julienne asks me to say 'thank you' to everyone for all the beautiful dresses and that it is very much appreciated. Please see below her message -
Thank you everyone for making this happen! Much appreciated.

Thank You from Mt Hagen PNG

Sometime end of May I sent a special parcel to Mt Hagen PNG for the boys of the BFO Orphanage after learning that they were in need of new pairs of pants. This morning I received an email from Dave of orphanlist with this picture attached to it. A picture that paints a thousand words, a picture that speaks for itself, a picture of happy boys of the orphanage in their Sunday’s best. Isnt that amazing knowing that these boys now own at least one new pair of pants each.
Thank you to the group of friends who made this possible, for putting more happy faces in this world. Much appreciated.

Feedback from parcels sent to CDO Phils and Uganda

I received an email today from Ana dela Fuente of Zonta International CDO II Chapter which I inadvertently deleted tonight thinking it was something else that yesterday she received the parcel that I sent to her about a week ago. This is great news that it only took a week for the parcel to get there as sometimes it takes 2-3 weeks.

Also, I got an email from Robert Luwalira of Home Sweet Home Orphanage, Masaka, Uganda that he got a call from their district's postal services letting him know that a parcel has arrived for him from Australia. If this is indeed the parcel that I sent then this is really good news as Australia Post told me that it will take between 6-8 weeks for parcels to arrive in Uganda. I've been counting the weeks since I posted  parcels to different locations and for Uganda this is only week 5. Am keeping my fingers crossed that what is waiting for him at their local post office is the one that I sent.

Feedback from PNG - Parcel of pants sent in May

Every now and then you will be reading 'feedback' articles on this site to make sure that everyone is informed and fully aware with what is happening with Dress A Girl Around the World - Dress A Girl Australia's distribution. Here are a couple of feedbacks I received from Dave of Orphanlist when I asked whether the parcel of pants I sent last May to Papua New Guinea has been received without any problems - (I had to remove the addresses to avoid spams)

1. On the 8th of June I enquired about the parcel sent in May to make sure it got to its destination without any problems and here is his reply -

So there you go my friends, campaigners and supporters of Dress A Girl Around the World - Dress A Girl Sydney & Australia. We have made 18 boys very happy with the first parcel containing long pants sent to Mt Hagen Papua New Guinea in May. Hopefully next month we would make 70 girls this time very happy with the dresses they will receive.

Thank you so much to everyone for making this possible. Much appreciated.
